Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb
On May 20, representatives from Egypt’s various Islamic political forces and movements participated in a meeting at Al-Azhar, which was led by Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb. At the meeting, these groups collectively agreed to categorically refuse all aspects of the “Shiite tide” and the celebrations of the Shiite Husseiniya in Egypt. They stressed that Egypt would remain a stronghold for Sunnis, who number 1.5 billion worldwide.
