With the real possibility that Queers Against Israeli Apartheid may march at Pride, once again our city funded gay pride celebration is being hijacked from a celebration of gay rights to an anti-Israel hate fest.
The Scotiabank Caribbean Carnival celebrates Caribbean culture. The Santa Claus Parade celebrates Christmas. Gay pride is incorporated and mandated to celebrate gay culture.
So why would the city, as principal stakeholder, allow its grant to be used by groups to spread a false, hurtful, and harmful narrative, unrelated to gay issues and considered virally anti-Semitic by the greater Toronto Jewish community?
