‘Anything that happens to the Jews they will exaggerate’

What do average Palestinians think about the Holocaust, if they know about it at all? Amateur Israeli filmmaker Corey Gil-Shuster, who moved to Israel from Canada 15 years ago, set out to the West Bank to find out as part of his YouTube series, “Ask an Israeli, ask a Palestinian.”

The results, unscientific though they were, weren’t especially encouraging.

There were three types of answers that surfaced during his interviews: lack of knowledge about the Holocaust, the view that the Holocaust happened but was exaggerated or is what the Israelis are doing to the Palestinians now, or the idea that Adolf Hitler was right for killing Jews.

The move comes days after security chiefs raised the threat level to “severe” following warnings that a jihadi attack in Britain is “highly likely”. The source added: “The Government s considering a range of measures to keep the country safe in the face of an increased threat level from Islamist extremism.

“The areas include making it harder for potential foreign fighters to travel abroad by making it easier to remove their passports through additional temporary seizure powers at the border.

“We believe that there was no discrimination. This is really a very simple matter,” Jay Lindgren said. “This is about Saint Anthony only allowing religious uses in the parts of the city that are not industrial zoned.”

Lindgren said the same city council members also rejected a Christian church in a light industrial zone subsequent to the vote on the Islamic Center.

Scrambling CF-18s isn’t cheap. It costs $45,000 to put a Canadian CF-18 in the air for one hour.

Airline analyst Karl Moore says it seems excessive to call in the military to escort the commercial flight over something like this, but that it is the pilot’s responsibility to ensure everyone’s safety.

Islamic State vows to reach ‘Palestine’ and ‘kill the barbaric Jews’

“Its [Islamic State’s] actions speak louder than its words and it is only a matter of time and patience before it reaches Palestine to fight the barbaric Jews and kill those of them hiding behind the gharqad trees – the trees of the jews.”

Malaysian women join Middle East jihadists as ‘comfort women’

Authorities confirmed that three Malaysian women have journeyed to the Middle East to join up with Isis forces.

Jihad Al-Nikah refers to a controversial concept where Sunni women allegedly offer themselves in sexual comfort roles to fighters for the establishment of Islamic rule.

The concept originated from a Wahhabi edict around 2013, that called for Sunni women supporters to come forward for sex jihad and boost the morale of fighters battling against Bashar al-Assad’s regime in Syria.

“These women are believed to have offered themselves in sexual comfort roles to Isis fighters who are attempting to establish Islamic rule in the Middle East.

The Muslim Rape of Christian Nuns

Despite how unsavory and barbaric Islamic groups and persons around the world have been behaving—whether Nigeria’s Boko Haram, Mesopotamia’s Islamic State, Somalia’s Shabaab—perhaps few things are as disgusting and cowardly as the Muslim rape of nuns: defenseless Christian women who sacrifice much of their lives to help sick and needy Muslims.

Bloodstained Hypocrisy of Hollywood’s Violence Profiteers

Did you miss Tinseltown’s latest political correctness powwow? Preening celebrities showed their solidarity with Ferguson, Mo., at the MTV Video Music Awards show this week. Rapper Common led the convocation, preachifying about the positive impact of hip-hop music on society as a “powerful instrument of social change” and “truth.”

Cameras showed drug-addled gangsta rapper Snoop Dogg bowing his head and flashing a peace sign during a “moment of silence” for Ferguson. MTV President Stephen Friedman aired public service announcements plying social justice messages. “It’s a call to action to our audience that we have to confront our own bias head-on before we can truly create change,” Friedman pontificated.

Spare me the shizzle and hypocri-dizzle.

While these Hollywood do-gooders gnash their Zoom!-brightened teeth over violence in the black community, they turn their Restylane-filled cheeks from the bullet-riddled violence glamorized by their own industry.

Calgary brothers join ranks of Canadians fighting for ISIS

Two more Canadians have joined the ranks of foreign fighters with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), CBC News has learned. Both are relatively recent converts to Islam from Calgary — and they are brothers.

Gregory and Collin Gordon converted to Islam and became known to members of Calgary’s Muslim community as Abdul Malik and Khalid. Between 2011 and 2012, they shared an apartment in the same downtown Calgary highrise that once housed Damian Clairmont and Salman Ashrafi.

Canadian jets move closer to Russian territory as Ukraine conflict heats up

The presence of Russian soldiers in southeastern Ukraine “is unacceptable, irresponsible and absolutely reckless,” Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird said Thursday, the same day reports suggested Canadian fighter jets will soon be on patrol closer to Russian airspace.

Four of six CF-18s that Canada sent to Eastern Europe earlier this year have arrived at Siauliai Air Base in Lithuania, the Canadian Press reported. They will begin protecting air space over Lithuania, as well as Latvia and Estonia, next week, working alongside jets from Portugal, Germany and Belgium.

The international mission is designed to protect Eastern Europe allies amidst Russia’s ongoing incursion into eastern Ukraine, which heated up Thursday with reports of Russian soldiers in the southeast.

The breakthrough came in a 16-year study of the only animal immune to cancer.

The discovery by an Israeli specialist was last night hailed as “radical and potentially life-changing”.

In a world first, Professor Aaron Avivi and his team found that cells from the blind mole rat and its cousin the naked mole rat secrete a substance that destroys cancer cells in mammals – including humans.

Experts think harvesting this substance and making it safe to digest could wipe out a disease that kills eight million people each year worldwide. Last night Prof Avivi, of Haifa University in Israel was heading to London where he is due  to present his findings to professionals.

“We reject these partnerships now, and we will reject them every time until Palestine is free.”

Toronto mayoral candidate Sarah Thomson thinks one way to make the city a “happier, smarter, and safer” place is by giving low-income seniors free Viagra.

Yes, really.

She cited traffic gridlock and an aging population as the reasoning behind her eyebrow-raising pledge. “Stress in seniors can cause erectile dysfunction, leading to more stress and creating very unhappy citizens,” Thomson said in a Monday press release.

All the Stuff Soldiers Have Carried in Battle, From the 11th Century to Today

In the 13th century, if you wanted to kill a man your best bet was using a battle axe. By the 16th century, swords and daggers had given way to muskets. During World War I, hand grenades were a standard part of every British soldier’s inventory. And today? Soldiers carry iPads alongside their rifles.

Photographer Thom Atkinson documents the battle kits of British soldiers over the course of 1,000 years. The series, appropriately titled Soldiers’ Inventories, starts with the Battle of Hastings in 1066 and chronicles the gear soldiers carried into 12 other battles, from the battle of Waterloo to the war in Afghanistan.

Hard-Line Splinter Group, Galvanized by ISIS, Emerges From Pakistani Taliban

The Pakistani Taliban has suffered its second major split in three months, with militant leaders this week confirming the emergence of a hard-line splinter group inspired by the success of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

ANALYSIS: The reach of Qatar’s clout

No government has supported Hamas throughout its war with Israel more stridently than Qatar, hosting its leaders, funding its militarization, and, in recent weeks, blocking cease-fire efforts on Gaza brokered by Egypt and supported by the US.

That might cause a modest rift between Washington and Doha, on opposite ends of the spectrum of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

But neither country is so invested in challenging the policies of the other on Hamas to shake the foundations of the US-Qatar relationship, broadened well beyond what transpires in the Gaza Strip.

Hamas Manual Calls for Hiding Bombs in Civilian Homes

The IDF has captured a military manual published by the Engineering Corps of Hamas’ military wing, the Al Qassam Brigades.

The explosives manual recommends teaching civilians how to build and store bombs in their homes. According to the manual, the goal is “to transfer combat from open areas to built-up urban areas, which serves the ‘resistance’ [i.e. Hamas] and fighters of Islamic Jihad.”

Those right-wing, small-town hillbillies sure are uncivilized

The owner of a North Dakota coffee shop is flattered his decision to operate the business on the honor system garnered international attention earlier this summer, but those who equate it to the goodness of all humanity might want to help themselves to a decaf K-Cup.

David Brekke says it’s about small-town living where people know their neighbors.

Brekke and his wife, Kimberly, run The Vault coffee shop in Valley City, a town of about 6,700 people that’s about 45 minutes from Fargo. They renovated a nearly 100-year-old bank building and cut down on overhead by cutting out baristas.

The food and drink is located on a refurbished teller counter at the front of the shop. Coffee lovers can choose java from a commercial brewer, complete with gourmet creams and flavorings, or individual servings from a Keurig brewing system, or K-Cups. There also are soft drinks and homemade pastries.

This unusual setup has given customers a sense of ownership, helped revitalize the city’s downtown — and, in the first 10 months of the business, brought in about 15 percent more money than the asking price.

“I think that people who haven’t grown up in a small, tight-knit community like this are very surprised by honesty,” Brekke said.

For David Brekke, who works from home as a business consultant, the idea seemed logical. He grew up in a small town in Minnesota where one of his neighbors used to leave corn on the cob in the yard with a cardboard box as cash register.

“Nobody ever took the box with the money in it,” Brekke said.

The Vault’s customers can pay by credit card, cash or check. There’s a note below the cash slot that says “No. I.O.U.s.” Another placard notes that exact change is not necessary … “round down and give yourself a break or round up and help us stay in business.”

Scummy terrorist relatives of scummy terrorists

Due to al-Daif’s [high ranking] position, Wadad had to remain constantly out of sight. She was forced to quit her job as a researcher at a local charity due to concerns that collaborators working for Israel were monitoring her movement in order to assassinate her husband. About a year ago, she rented a house and lived there until it was struck by the occupation forces a few days ago.

Hajja Omm Mustafa Asfour, Wadad’s mother, received the news of her daughter’s martyrdom with ululations. She considered her death a sacrifice for the sake of her country and her people.

Speaking to Al-Akhbar, Omm Mustafa said she was very proud of her daughter’s martyrdom and that she is ready to give Commander al-Daif all her other daughters in marriage, one by one, “so that I would share with him the rewards of the Resistance [in heaven].”

“I knew that we would share with him this reward ever since he proposed to my daughter, and I will never regret approving it. I was the first to encourage this marriage,” she said, adding that her daughter Wadad did not hesitate to marry al-Daif because she felt it was a great honor for her and for her family.

The whole icky thing.
