Israeli innovation will defeat BDS

“The world believes in Israeli technology because science and technology are stronger than any boycott”.

The Anti-Semitic BDS Campaigns on Campus: What is Their Impact?

In the last 10 years (2005-2015):

  • A total of 70 votes have been taken on BDS measures – 45 were defeated (64%).
  • Those votes were limited to a total of 44 schools, just 2 percent of America’s four-year colleges. (I count the California Community College Association as one college and exclude the UC Student Association which has no power and represents no individual schools).
  • Of the 44 campuses, 9 are part of the University of California (20%); 24 resolutions were proposed on these campuses and 15 were defeated (63 percent).
  • Only 18 schools have approved a BDS resolution in the last 10 years (.009 percent of universities).
  • Only the University of Michigan Dearborn, UC San Diego, UC Irvine and UC Davis have passed BDS resolutions more than once.

What are we to make of these statistics?

The movement has grown, but it is not sweeping the nation, and it definitely is not winning. Even the handful of divestment resolutions that were adopted by students have no authority and administrators have repeatedly made clear they have no intention of divesting from Israel. In fact, many of the same schools (e.g., UCI) dramatically increased cooperation with Israel after the votes.

Scientology & Nation Of Islam

The relationship between the Nation of Islam and scientology is becoming stranger and stranger.

Whether anyone likes it or not, scientology membership is disproportionately white. Massively so. And Louis Farrakhan is militantly anti-white.

So, what the hell are they doing in bed with one another?

Report: Fears in Lebanon that Hezbollah trying to hijack social protests to overthrow government

Political sources in Lebanon claimed Monday that the “You Stink” protest movement, which originated on social media and has mobilized around the government’s failure to deal with collecting trash, has been hijacked by Hezbollah in an attempt to seize power in the country.

The sources told London-based newspaper Al-Arab that “Hezbollah is using the trash crisis to topple the government of [Prime Minister] Tammam Salam and to create a power vacuum amid the Parliament’s failure to choose a new president who is acceptable to everyone.”

In the Lebanese media as well, there are claims that the Shi’ite faction, Amal, which is identified in Parliament with Hezbollah, is acting to disturb the public order. The reports claim that these activists clashed with security forces that guard the prime minister’s headquarters in Beirut.

Palis killing each other in Lebanon

At least three people have been killed in clashes between rival armed groups in Lebanon’s largest Palestinian refugee camp, near the southern port city of Sidon.

Fighting between the Jund al-Sham group and members of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah movement on Monday began in the northern part of Ain al-Hilweh camp and quickly spread.

Sources told Al Jazeera that the three killed were on Fatah’s side. Several others were wounded and brought to hospitals in Sidon.

It was unclear what sparked the clashes, and each side blamed the other.

The escalating rivalry between Jund al-Sham and Fatah has erupted into clashes several times over the past few months.

While America debates whether to take Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump seriously, one Palestinian cleric responded with unintentional seriousness and outspoken vehemence to a satirical “Trump Solution” to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The parody news site The Mideast Beast reported on a fake “controversial peace proposal” by the colorful Trump to “give the US island territory of Puerto Rico to the Palestinians as compensation for surrendering to Israel.”

In an article titled “Donald Trump: Move the Palestinians to Puerto Rico,” the made-up plan is described thus: “the US would fund the relocation of all four or so million Palestinians living in the West Bank and Gaza Strip to the Caribbean archipelago, and offer them ‘free housing, job training and a lifetime supply of deodorant.’”

In response, a visibly angry Palestinian cleric, Issam Amira, who the MEMRI research center identified with Hizb ut-Tahrir, devoted a Friday sermon earlier this month to slamming the plan. MEMRI posted a translated clip of the sermon on Sunday.

“The Republican presidential candidate, the American businessman and billionaire Donald Trump revealed his ‘Trump Plan’ to resolve the Israeli-Arab conflict,” Amira said in the sermon, which was broadcast online.

“He said: ‘Give the American island of Puerto Rico to the Palestinians, and build them a replica of the Al-Aqsa Mosque there.’

“We say to that Trump: Palestine is not the same as Puerto Rico! And the al-Aqsa Mosque is not a mere building made of stone.”

A former Hamas Health Minister of the Gaza Strip, Dr Basem Naim, has embarrassed himself with his failure to understand a cartoon. Dr Naim tweeted the picture (above) believing he was making an anti-Israel statement only to find he had in fact ended up defending Israel against United Nations (UN) mistreatment.

HuffPost Arabic’s Muslim Brotherhood connections

“Don’t be shocked if you expect one thing and find something entirely different,” writes Anas Fouda, editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post’s brand new Arabic-language edition, HuffPost Arabi, in his inaugural editorial.

The warning is apt, for presumably few readers indeed will have expected the liberal American media juggernaut to launch a venture headed by two prominent figures of the Middle East’s religious right.

Fouda, previously an executive producer at Al Jazeera Arabic (AJA), is managing the website in partnership with his old boss, former AJA director general Wadah Khanfar. Their profiles may make for interesting perusal for existing Huffington Post readers unfamiliar with the Arabic-language media landscape.

Detecting marriage fraud in Canada called ‘racist and offensive’

The three-page training guide, titled “Evidence of Relationship,” lists clues officers should look for in assessing a spousal sponsorship application. Ostensible warning signs that it’s a sham marriage include: couples who are not depicted kissing on the lips in their wedding photos; university-educated Chinese nationals who marry non-Chinese; a small wedding reception in a restaurant; a Canadian sponsor who is relatively uneducated, with a low-paying job or on welfare.

Other red flags include couples who don’t take a honeymoon trip, perhaps because they were students or lack the financial resources to do so; no diamond ring; and photos of activities together taken in Niagara Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake and Toronto.

Nearly 1 in 4 Romanians want their country free of Jews — poll

Saudi Royalty Flaunts Lavish French Holiday In Rare Photos

Saudi-IG-France-23643191532

Swanky villas, fleets of gleaming new Mercedes and an entire beach annexed from the public are apparently not enough for some among of the 1,000-strong entourage accompanying Saudi King Salman during his three-week sojourn at the French Riviera. They’ve turned to Instagram to flaunt their wealth and privilege, too.

Images uploaded to the social media site capture Saudi Arabia’s elites basking in excessive splendor. Some have taken sunbathing selfies on the beach. Others have snapped still life photos of their fruit drinks aboard yachts on the Mediterranean. One member of the royal entourage posted a picture of the tony InterContinental Carlton Hotel in Cannes—from the inside of his Ferrari.

These virtual postcards offer a rare and new glimpse into a time-honored tradition among Saudi royalty. For decades, the kingdom’s elite have made vacationing during the European summer an extravagant enterprise. King Fahd, who ruled from 1982 to 2005, epitomized the art of the riotous Saudi holiday, constructing a mosque, sports center and marble and gold replica of the White House in Marbella, Spain. Up to 3,000 people traveled with him on visits to the 200-acre spread. During one seven week vacation before he died, Fahd and company reportedly blew through more than $100 million.

Sunni Arab Nations Are Israel’s Allies,’ Says Israeli Foreign Ministry Director General

The director general of Israel’s Foreign Ministry, Dore Gold, called the Middle East’s Sunni Arab nations “Israel’s allies.”

Gold used the term twice in a presentation Wednesday in New York focused on the shortcomings of the Iran nuclear deal.

“What we have is a regime on a roll that is trying to conquer the Middle East,” Gold said of Iran, “and it’s not Israel talking, that is our Sunni Arab neighbors — and you know what? I’ll use another expression – that is our Sunni Arab allies talking.”

Iran Worked with Al Qaeda, Docs from Raid on Bin Laden Compound Show

Stephen Hayes and Bill Kristol of the Weekly Standard are calling on the Obama Administration to release long-suppressed documents from the raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound, which illustrate collusion between the government of Iran and al-Qaeda, including Iran’s assistance with attacks on Americans.

Six highly-placed insiders discussed these documents with the Standard. Several of them said the evidence was so explosive that it could derail the nuclear deal with Iran.

The Weekly Standard’s account of these documents sheds new light on just how destructive President Obama’s mad dash for an Iranian nuclear legacy has been for American national security. This president is forcing our intelligence apparatus to ignore a great deal of Iranian criminal activity that is not directly connected to their nuclear program, effectively blinding the United States to serious military and terrorist threats.

“There are letters about Iran’s role, influence, and acknowledgment of enabling al Qaeda operatives to pass through Iran as long as al Qaeda did their dirty work against the Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan,” Lieutenant General Michael Flynn, former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, tells the Weekly Standard. “What Congress should demand is to see all the UBL [Osama bin Laden] documents related to Iran and all the documents related to intentions of AQ into the future—they are very telling.”
