Asian American Group Eviscerates Critical Race Theory: ‘A Hateful, Divisive, Manipulative Fraud’
Backlash is rising against the Marxist critical race theory (CRT) behind The New York Times‘ “1619 Project” and other efforts to indoctrinate Americans with the idea that American society is fundamentally or “structurally” racist. This week, the Chinese American Citizens Alliance of Greater New York (CACAGNY) issued a powerful statement condemning critical race theory and urging Chinese Americans to oppose it.
“Critical Race Theory (CRT) is a hateful, divisive, manipulative fraud,” CACAGNY declared. “One way or another, CRT wants to get rid of too many Asians in good schools. Asians are over-represented. CRT is today’s Chinese Exclusion Act. CRT is the real hate crime against Asians”.

Clubhouse Discourse Isn’t Recorded. That Upsets Some Journalists.
Since its introduction last year, the invite-only social media app Clubhouse has garnered a lot of buzz. Social media has been around long enough that everything old is new again, and unlike other apps that encourage users to share links or fragmentary thoughts in exchange for “likes,” Clubhouse facilitates voice conversations using your phone. Essentially, you can pick a topic and host your own panel discussion with friends. If you’re lucky, you get to join a conversation and share your thoughts with the likes of Elon Musk or any number of the site’s famous and influential users.
However, I regret to inform you that a growing number of journalists are deeply troubled by Clubhouse’s growing popularity. Why? It seems Clubhouse won’t accommodate their inner Big Brother.
In GritDaily, an online publication that bills itself as “the top news source on Millennial and Gen Z brands – from fashion, tech, influencers, entrepreneurship, and life,” staff writer Olivia Smith took aim at the new app in a late January story. Her primary complaint was that she heard “an alarming amount of casual sexism.” Readers have to take her word for it, though, which was the point of her critique – and the point, in some ways, of the app itself.

Florida got it right, and the lockdown states got it wrong
Florida has lower per-capita COVID-19 mortality than the national average and lower than 27 other states, including tightly lockdown California, despite having more senior citizens. Its unemployment rate is lower than the national average. Florida offers more in-person education than any other state, and it leads the nation in vaccinating those older than 65 years old.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo faces second accusation of sexual harassment
A second accuser has come forward with allegations of sexual harassment against New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. The accusations were made following former aide Lindsey Boylan’s claims that the governor had engaged in inappropriate touching and kissed her without her consent.
The second accuser, a former aide named Charlotte Bennett says that the governor asked “questions about her sex life, whether she was monogamous in her relationships and if she had sex with older men,” according to the New York Times.

Widespread internet outages reported in Iran as unrest over border shootings mount
Iran’s impoverished southeast experienced wide disruptions of internet service over the past week, internet experts said Saturday, as unrest gripped the remote province after fatal border shootings.
Several rights groups reported in a joint statement that authorities shut down the mobile data network in the restive province of Sistan and Baluchestan, calling the disruptions an apparent “tool to conceal” the government’s harsh crackdown on protests convulsing the area.
The reports of internet interference come as Iranian authorities and semiofficial news agencies increasingly acknowledge the turmoil challenging local authorities in the southeast — a highly sensitive matter in a country that seeks to repress all hints of political dissent.

Cuomo’s Political Future Is Imploding, So the Legacy Media Is Looking the Other Way
Lindsey Boylan, a former aide to Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.), came forward with allegations of sexual assault against the governor on Wednesday, repeating claims she had made last December. The fallout from Cuomo’s COVID-19 nursing home scandal and his alleged attempts to blackmail fellow Democrats into silence have perhaps given Boylan’s accusations more weight. While the legacy media has begrudgingly covered the Cuomo scandal, many outlets ignored the sexual assault claims on Wednesday, and only perfunctorily mentioned them on Thursday.

Report: At Least 6,500 Migrant Workers Have Died in Qatar Prior to World Cup
At least 6,500 South Asian migrant workers died in Qatar from 2011-2020, the Guardian reported Tuesday, citing government data from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Qatar.
The report suggests allegedly lax safety protocols surrounding Qatar’s construction of new stadiums and infrastructure as it prepares to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup were the cause of many of the deaths.

How an Influential Medical Journal Laundered Progressivism as ‘Public Health’
The Lancet last week released a sweeping and much vaunted report on “public health and policy in the Trump era.” Its first key finding is that Donald Trump “politicised” science, which “posed a uniquely urgent threat to health.”
The report, “Public Policy and Health in the Trump Era,” offers a host of “science-led” proposals it claims would mitigate that threat, from the implementation of the Green New Deal and a complete ban on coal mining to higher taxes, cuts to defense spending, and Medicare for All. The list goes on: Repealing the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits federal funding for abortion, would also improve public health, as would an “explicitly anti-racist” agenda to eliminate gaps between minorities and “non-Latinx white people.” Reparations for blacks, Native Americans, and Puerto Ricans should be part of that agenda, the authors say.
