The billboards were paid for by the group Vaccination Choice Canada and went up on Feb. 21. Clark* first found out that his 12-year-old daughter Maxine was being treated as a boy by her school when he saw her new name in her class’s grade seven yearbook. “Quinn” was the new name her counselor had helped her pick out, and Maxine’s school district in Delta, British Columbia, Canada, had decided that “Quinn” should be treated, for all intents and purposes, as a boy.

The district apparently felt justified in leaving Maxine’s father completely out of the loop. Maxine’s school district was operating by the BC Ministry of Education’s Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) Policy, according to which Clark had no right to know his daughter’s “preferred sex, gender, or name” at school.

Presented with a fait accompli from the school district and a daughter who was becoming increasingly passionate about her transgender identity, Clark found himself in a difficult situation. He did not want to reject his daughter’s newfound passion outright but, at the same time, he was cautious about her moving into transgenderism too quickly.

Ever since her parents separated in 2013, Maxine had struggled emotionally to cope, experiencing behavioral problems and depression which Clark felt left her “very vulnerable” and searching for a place to belong. During the same school year that she took on a transgender identity, Maxine had apparently also gone through a lesbian phase. Clark couldn’t help but wonder if her new transgender identity might likewise come and go.

School Counselors And Doctors Trumping Parents’ Wishes

Maxine’s counselors at school were of a different mind.  They referred Maxine and her mother, Sarah, to a “Dr.” Wallace Wong — a psychologist and LGBT activist who predictably decided that Maxine should be referred to a children’s hospital for testosterone injections when she was only 13. Not to be outdone, the children’s hospital asked Maxine’s parents for permission to begin injecting Maxine with testosterone on her very first visit. Clark said no and refused to sign.

From the middle of August until October, the hospital worked Clark over, trying to get his consent. When he finally refused, the hospital dropped a bombshell threat: simply put, they declared that they didn’t need Clark’s or Sarah’s permission for that matter. In a letter mailed December 1, 2018, Dr. Brenden Hursh informed Clark that they would begin treatment on Maxine in two weeks, without Clark’s consent. BC Children’s Hospital believed Maxine was a “mature minor,” who could receive treatment against the wishes of both her parents, according to section 17 of the BC Infants Act. Using Maxine’s male moniker, “Quinn,” Hursh explained:

This national Teach-In program will feature extensive, in-depth and sensitive content about who those disruptors are, the threats they pose to traditional respect for the rule of law, and how new measures can be taken by law-abiding Canadians to address these threats. There will be booths, speakers, food, techniques training, networking opportunities, and in-depth sensitive and security-topic information that you’ve literally never seen or heard of before.

UN Chief Guterres Calls for Global War on ‘Hate Speech’

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has proclaimed a new global initiative against hate speech.

Guterres lamented that “hate” is moving into the mainstream and has “poisoned” debate on migration policy. He claimed this is done via “false narratives linking refugees and migrants to terrorism and scapegoating them for many of society’s ills.”

Guterres described this groundswell of “hate speech” as a “menace to democratic values, social stability, and peace. It spreads like wildfire through social media, the Internet, and conspiracy theories.”

Perhaps his most revealing statement of bias was when he combined “rising anti-Semitism and anti-Muslim hatred.” He neglected to note that part of the rise of anti-Jewish rhetoric has been as a direct result of mass-migration from the Islamic world.

The New York Times noted that in a 2013 study about Sweden’s spike in anti-Jewish rhetoric and violence, “51 percent of anti-Semitic incidents in Sweden were attributed to Muslim extremists. Only 5 percent were carried out by right-wing extremists; 25 percent were perpetrated by left-wing extremists.” The Times also cited similar problems in France. Guterres’ statement was also revealing because anti-Christian rhetoric and terror attacks were not even included in his discussion.

Today in fake hate crimes: Jackson gay rights leader accused of burning down own home

When the home of Nikki Joly burned down in 2017, killing five pets, the FBI investigated it as a hate crime.

After all, the transgender man and gay rights activist had received threats after having a banner year in this conservative town.

In the prior six months, he helped open the city’s first gay community center, organized the first gay festival and, after 18 years of failed attempts, helped lead a bruising battle for an ordinance that prohibits discrimination against gays.

For his efforts, a local paper named him the Citizen of the Year.

Authorities later determined the fire was intentionally set, but the person they arrested came as a shock to both supporters and opponents of the gay rights movement. It was the citizen of the year — Nikki Joly.

Canadian who tried to join terror group in Syria released from prison despite being ‘high risk to public safety’

An Ontario man who travelled to Syria to join an al-Qaida faction is being released from prison less than two years after pleading guilty, even though the Parole Board of Canada is concerned he might continue to engage in terrorism.

In a newly-released decision obtained by Global News, the Parole Board said Kevin Omar Mohamed had not participated in any de-radicalization efforts and there was no evidence he was committed to changing his “extremist ideological beliefs.”
