Judge Denies ACLU Request To Help SPLC In McInnes ‘Proud Boys’ Lawsuit

An Alabama judge on Tuesday struck down a bid by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) to help the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) defend itself against a lawsuit filed by Gavin McInnes, the founder of the ‘Proud Boys’ – a fraternal organization which the SPLC labeled a hate group.

The SPLC says the group is “known for anti-Muslim and misogynistic rhetoric,” and that members “maintain affiliations with known extremists.”

McInnes hit back – filing a defamation lawsuit in early February which claims that the ‘hate group’ label is false and has damaged his career.

What if the New York Times Cartoon had depicted a Muslim, a Lesbian, an African American or a Mexican as a Dog?

Imagine if the New York Times cartoon that depicted Israel’s Prime Minister as a dog had, instead, depicted the leader of another ethnic or gender group in a similar manner? If you think that is hard to imagine, you are absolutely right. It would be inconceivable for a Times editor to have allowed the portrayal of a Muslim leader as a dog; or the leader of any other ethnic or gender group in so dehumanizing a manner.

What is it, then, about Jews that allowed such a degrading cartoon about one of their leaders? One would think that in light of the history of the Holocaust, which is being commemorated this week, the last group that a mainstream newspaper would demonize by employing a caricature right out of the Nazi playbook, would be the Jews. But no. Only three-quarters of a century after Der Stürmerincentivized the mass murder of Jews by dehumanizing them, we see a revival of such bigoted caricatures.

The New York Times should be especially sensitive to this issue, because they were on the wrong side of history when it came to reporting the Holocaust. They deliberately buried the story because their Jewish owners wanted to distance themselves from Jewish concerns. They were also on the wrong side of history when it came to the establishment of the nation-state of the Jewish people, following the Holocaust. When it comes to Jews and Israel, the New York Times is still on the wrong side of history.

Secret list of SNC employees, execs behind illegal donations to federal Liberal Party revealed

A confidential document sent to the Liberal Party of Canada in 2016, and obtained by CBC/Radio-Canada, reveals how top officials at the embattled engineering firm SNC-Lavalin were named in a scheme to illegally influence Canadian elections.

The list of names, compiled in 2016 by federal investigators probing political party donations and leaked to CBC’s The Fifth Estate and Radio-Canada’s Enquête, raises new questions about an agreement by the Commissioner of Canada Elections not to prosecute the company.

The federal Liberals were sent the list in a letter marked “confidential” from the Commissioner of Canada Elections — the investigative branch of Elections Canada — on Aug. 5, 2016. But for nearly three years, neither Elections Canada nor the Liberal Party shared that information publicly.

The investigation reveals that over a period of more than five years between 2004 and 2009, 18 former SNC-Lavalin employees, directors and some spouses contributed nearly $110,000 to the federal Liberals, including to four party leadership campaigns and four riding associations in Quebec.

According to the letter, the investigation found that SNC-Lavalin reimbursed all of those individual donations — a practice forbidden under the Canada Elections Act.

SNC also made indirect donations to the Conservative Party of just over $8,000, according to investigators.

Hamas shifts tactics in bitcoin fundraising, highlighting crypto risks: research

The Gaza-based Izz el-Deen al-Qassam Brigades, which is proscribed by the United States and the European Union, has been calling on its supporters to donate using the digital currency in a fundraising campaign announced online in late January.

Originally, it asked donors to send bitcoin to a single digital address, or wallet.

However, according to research shared with Reuters by leading blockchain analysis firm Elliptic, in recent weeks it has changed the mechanism, with its website generating a new digital wallet with every transaction.

This makes it harder for companies around the world to keep tabs on the group’s cryptocurrency financing, the researchers said.

Stockholm Anti-Extremism Tsar: ISIS Returnees Now ‘Caring Citizens’

Stockholm city council’s suggestion that ISIS members have returned to live in Sweden as law-abiding citizens from whom the country has nothing to fear was also contradicted somewhat by an investigation by public broadcaster SVT last month, which found that one in three (that we know of) returned jihadists have committed serious crimes since travelling back from the Middle East.

COMBAT VET WHO STOPPED THE SYNAGOGUE SHOOTER: ‘I SCARED THE HELL OUT OF HIM’

The man who fired a semi-automatic weapon inside the Chabad of Poway synagogue in San Diego on Saturday froze, dropped his gun and sprinted to his car when he saw Oscar Stewart come barreling toward him, yelling so loud the priest at a neighboring church could hear.

“Get down!” Stewart yelled, according to his wife and others who were at the scene. “You motherfucker! I’m going to kill you!”

Others who were there later told him it sounded like four or five people were shouting. He thinks maybe an angel was standing behind him and speaking through his voice. When the shooter ran, he immediately gave chase.

Stewart, 51, told The Daily Caller on Sunday he doesn’t remember any conscious thought from the moment he heard the gun shots until it was all over — he just acted on instinct to stop the shooter and prevent him from leaving so he couldn’t hurt more people somewhere else. The Iraq combat veteran said his military training kicked in.

“I knew I had to be within five feet of this guy so his rifle couldn’t get to me,” Stewart said. “So I ran immediately toward him, and I yelled as loud as I could. And he was scared. I scared the hell out of him.”

Synagogue Shooters Have Trump Hatred in Common

The evil psychopaths who shot up the synagogues in Poway and Pittsburgh undoubtedly share a number of traits in common, but prominent among them is unremitting hatred of Donald Trump. The Poway shooter put it — how shall we say it — in succinct terms, calling the president a “Zionist, Anti-White, Traitorous, C*cksucker.” His Pittsburgh doppelgänger was almost as disgusting.

Despicable as they are, these two creatures can’t really be accused of Trump Derangement Syndrome, because, unlike many in mainstream media, they are at least somewhat correct in their assessment. Trump is pro-Israel, indeed likely the most pro-Israel president since Truman, who defied his own State Department to recognize the Jewish state.

Come to think of it, Trump probably defied his State Department too, or a good part of it, in actually moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem (rather than just promising to do so as other presidential candidates have) and then throwing recognition of the Golan Heights as part of Israel into the bargain. Both of these actions were, according to the “experts,” supposed to set the Middle East ablaze. Nothing of the sort happened. All this while Trump was absurdly accused of anti-Semitism by the heavy breathers in our media, before and after his election.

HUMAN RIGHTS NGO CALLS FOR OMAR BARGHOUTI’S ISRAELI RESIDENCY TO BE REVOKED

In a letter dated April 24, 2019, Betzalmo inquired with the Deri about how it was possible that the US prevents a boycott leader from entering its territory, while the Israeli government continues to grant him a residency permit, which allow him to receive benefits from the State of Israel.

“A recent law authorizes the Interior Minister, with the approval of the attorney-general, to revoke residency for anyone who harms state security or violates allegiance to the state, or endangers public peace,” the NGO said in a statement. “Undoubtedly Barghouti’s leadership of the boycott movement against all citizens of the State of Israel severely harms the State of Israel and is a blatant breach of allegiance, as well as a threat to Israel’s security and defense by pushing for an arms embargo against Israel.”

“In addition, the BDS movement collaborates with terrorist organizations, so there is undoubtedly an indirect link between Mr. Barghouti and terrorist organizations,” Betzalmo highlighted.

Betzalmo CEO Shai Glick explained that “the State of Israel is a democratic and liberal state, but it must, in the name of democracy and liberalism, defend itself and its citizens.”

“A determined struggle against the boycott constitutes true defense of the citizens of the State of Israel,” he continued. “We cannot demand from our allies in the world to prevent the entry of a boycott activist and to prevent conferences of boycott organizations, while allowing those leading BDS activists residency in Israel, giving them State benefits and a platform.

DRIVING A TESLA RESULTS IN MORE CO2 THAN A MERCEDES DIESEL CAR, STUDY FINDS

A Tesla Model 3 is touted as a zero-emissions car by government regulators, but it actually results in more carbon dioxide than a comparable diesel-powered car, according to a recent study.

When the CO2 emissions from battery production is included, electric cars, like Teslas, are “in the best case, slightly higher than those of a diesel engine, and are otherwise much higher,” reads a release from the German think tank IFO.

’93 Percent of Heroin’ in U.S. ‘Comes from Mexico’

“I think it’s important for everyone to realize — when we talk about the southwest border — 93 percent of the heroin that comes into the country comes from Mexico. So it’s coming right across the border.”

“We know fentanyl is being produced in Mexico as well as China, and coming across the border, as well,” continued Carroll. “Even cocaine from Columbia is not all coming by sea, some it is also coming up through the southwest border, as well.”

SYRIA SAYS TURKISH FORCES ILLEGALLY OCCUPY SYRIA

In a strongly worded statement, Syria’s representative to the UN, Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari, accused Turkey of illegally occupying Syrian territory, and said that all foreign forces must exit immediately. His comments came as Iran, Turkey and Russia met in Astana and slammed the US recognition of the Golan Heights as part of Israel.

In his speech Al-Jaafari said that Turkey had not complied with a September agreement regarding its presence in Idlib province in Syria, and that Turkey had not removed terrorist groups from Idlib. Al-Jaafari claimed that there were numerous extremists in Idlib and that the details agreed at Sochi and Astana meetings by Turkey, Russia and Iran to remove these terrorists had not been complied with. “What Turkey’s delegation says is not applied on the ground,” he said. “The Sochi agreement clearly stipulated that Turkey’s side was committed to the withdrawal of the terrorists groups to a behind a buffer of 20km.”

Carbon tax hits Canadian households hardest: Parliament Budget Office

Families in Ontario, New Brunswick, Manitoba and Saskatchewan will carry the burden of federal “carbon pricing” according to Parliament Budget Officer Yves Giroux and his office’s analysis of the federal tax in effect since April 1st this year.

“Households will largely bear the cost of the pricing system through their consumption of energy used for residential and transport purposes, and carbon charges embodied in non-energy products,” according to the analysis.

A LABOUR MP TWEETS FALSE VIDEO OF IDF ‘ABUSES’

Labour Member of Parliament Grahame Morris tweeted a video on Monday of what he claimed was the Israeli army “caught on camera beating up Palestinian children for the fun of it.” The IDF responded that the video was not of IDF soldiers, retweeting a 2015 report from Vice News featuring the video depicting Guatemalan soldiers beating civilians. The IDF added that, “apologies are in order.”

The video was tweeted by Rachael Swindon and MP Morris retweeted it with his own comments on April 22. “Marvelous, absolutely marvelous the Israeli Army, the best financed, best trained, best equipped army in the world caught on camera beating up Palestinian children for the fund of it. May God forgive them,” he wrote. He then referenced “Easter Monday.”

Woman arrested in killing of Northern Ireland reporter Lyra McKee

The Northern Ireland Police Service says they have arrested a woman under the Terrorism Act in the slaying of journalist Lyra McKee.

The arrest of the 57-year-old came as an Irish Republican Army splinter group admitted that one of its “volunteers” killed journalist McKee, who was shot dead while reporting on rioting in Londonderry, also known as Derry.

In a statement issued Tuesday to the Irish News, the New IRA offered “full and sincere” apologies to McKee’s family and friends.

The group said the 29-year-old journalist was killed during Thursday night’s unrest “while standing beside enemy forces” — a reference to the police.
