Two consecutive quarters of negative growth is the standard definition of a recession, and Phillip Magness, the research and education director at the American Institute for Economic Research, posted on Facebook a commentary about the country now being in a recession.

The post – which is no longer visible – was marked by Facebook’s fact checkers as being misleading.

The steps predators take to groom children for sexual abuse bear a remarkable resemblance to some modern lesson plans in American elementary schools, according to descriptions clinical experts provided to the Daily Caller.

Proponents of introducing Critical Gender Theory curricula and graphic sexual education to young children in schools have rejected the “groomer” pejorative critics recently began lobbing at them. Still, the grooming methods that experts outlined for the Caller bear a striking resemblance to some of the newer sexual education lessons the fringe political left is pushing into classrooms.

If ineffective, then shoot them down.”

Police seize $12-million in cars, plus drugs, guns, in alleged GTA car theft, fraud ring

Twelve million dollars – that’s the value of cars stolen, modified and resold as part of organized crime across the GTA, according to the police.

Several police organizations announced the seizures of 214 vehicles at a news conference July 28. Police also told of 44 search warrants executed and the seizure of six firearms, $160,000 in Canadian currency, $8,400 in US currency, a variety of suspected drugs and two laser marking machines.

The investigation, dubbed Project Myra, identified three organizations that were stealing cars before counterfeiting the vehicle’s technology so they could be resold. The organizations were based in Peel Region, Toronto and Durham Region, and York Region.

The theft and fraud operation involved changing the vehicle identification numbers on vehicles stolen in Ontario before fraudulently re-registering and then selling the vehicles, often high-end cars, including a Lamborghini.

In the case of the Durham and Toronto group, the vehicles were being registered in Saskatchewan before transferring the fraudulent vehicle documentation to Ontario, then re-selling to people, including alleged criminal networks.

In all, 28 people were charged with 242 offences, and five were held in custody.

Also charged were four Service Ontario employees who are accused of assisting the illegitimate registration of stolen vehicles.

“(People) deserve to have peace of mind when it comes to making a purchase as large as a vehicle,” OPP Deputy Commissioner Chuck Cox said. “The criminal organizations involved in Project Myra have tarnished that. We want to take this opportunity to remind everyone to be extremely cautious and use judgment and discretion when purchasing a used vehicle”

Some of the police agencies involved included OPP, York, Durham, Peel and Halton police and Saskatoon police. Although there were a variety of vehicles taken, 37 per cent of the automobiles were Honda or Acura brands.

Six children were victimized by an Edmonton man, police say. Charges of sexual assault, sexual interference and making and transmitting child pornography have been laid.

ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) laid the charges against 21-year-old Imesh Ratnayake.

He is accused of contacting children online and meeting them in Morinville and around the Edmonton area, between September 2021 and June 2022.

“ICE alleges that Ratnayake targeted young girls via the social media application Snapchat. He was able to perpetuate the offences by gaining access to the victim’s contacts, in some instances through extortion,” ICE said in a statement.

Victims are aged between 11 to 13 years.

‘Death sentence certain’ for German-Iranian journalist

The Iranian government is slated to execute California resident and German citizen and radio journalist Jamshid Sharmahd for his dissident activities, according to the 67-year-old’s family.
